Graviera Naxou

The most famous and representative cheese of the Naxos island, which is a product of protective Designation of Origin since 1996. Consist of at least 80% cow’s milk, 20% sheep and goat’s milk as well as a minimum of 3 month’s aging .Graviera of Naxos, which has a hard, sub yellow and solid elastic mass, has numerous holes and sweet buttery taste. It’s a fairly new product as it was made in the beginning of the 20th century in Peloponissos, and it was quickly spread in the rest of Greece and Crete, where exceptional Graviera was made from goat milk. Graviera of Naxos has been awarded with the international taste & quality institute prize in 2016.
